I'm an artist and filmmaker. I'm working on a documentary about Newgrounds and the development of the internet over the last 10-15 years . I'm a long time fan of the site and a pretty nice guy, so say hello.

For awhile here, most of my updates will consist of me saying how the list of people agreeing to be interviewed for has continued to grow. So this is one of those. Some very cool people from the world of animation, both on and offline, have agreed to speak with me (as well as people from other areas). I don't want to count my chickens and spill the beans until the interviews are in the can though, so you'll just have to take my word for it awhile.

I wanted to also mention that for January I'll be investigating whether or not I can get NG fans in Boston and Baltimore to host a meetup in each city, so I can can attend and start talking to fans!
    Good stuff.

So I got the first in a series of interviews with Tom under my belt today and I thought it went quite well. We were interrupted only by the occasional rumble of the passing regional rail outside the window and Bob's obsession with a recent SNL digital short played at full volume in the office.
The list of interesting people who are willing to talk to me and be in the film continues to grow. Right on.

Here's me interviewing Tom. Even from a still you can tell that he's giving brilliant answers to my highly insightful questions.

    Update: Interviews ahoy!

    Correct.
HI there. My name's Nathan and I'm making a feature-length documentary about Newgrounds and the evolution of the Internet. I'll interview a bunch of NG users along the way and I'd love your input and ideas. While it is going to be a serious and informative film in many ways, it will also be a lot of fun and it will feature tons of animation. Eventually, I'll be contacting some musicians and animators on NG about contributing to the finished product! Keep an eye on my user page for updates.

So... who wants to be in a movie?

So at this point, I have a short but slowly growing list of very interesting people who've expressed an interest in talking to me for the film. These are mostly authors and game reviewers at this point and next I'm going to start getting in touch with NG fans and notable Flash animators to talk to. I am always interested in cool interesting people to talk to who'd have something to contribute. Any suggestions?

So I'm not announcing it to too many NG users yet, which works out well since I'm sure nobody reads this blog (yet) but I'm now working on a film about Newgrounds. It's also about the evolution of the internet over the last 10-15 years, which is roughly the period of time Newgrounds has existed. I'll be interviewing staff and fans alike, as well as a number of other interesting folks. I aim to make it a fun and informative documentary which will include tons of animation and music from NG users. I'll also be looking for fan input and suggestions. Watch this space for more.

look at your calendars--look at December 25th
    that's not a regular day
we get off from work, so let's have us some fun
    and celebrate christmas our way
well we won't go to church
but we'll stay in to play...
let's all get fucked on christmas
let's all take shits on christmas
let's all suck dick on christmas
let's all get creamed on christmas...
now we don't believe in god
    and we never found christ
we don't go to church and we don't pray
so where we gonna find meaning?
    and what will we do?
    to celebrate this meaningful day.
now it won't mean a thing if you
    don't help me sing...
let's all smoke pot on christmas
let's all do coke on christmas!
let's all shoot up on christmas!
let's all burn out on christmas!
let's all go wild on christmas!
let's all get pooched on christmas!
    let's all snowball on christmas!
let's all beat off on christmas...
beating off is special on christmas...
    in the bleak midwinter night
    a frosty wind made moan
I found me a hooker--she looked just like christ
HE gave me a rusty trombone!
and it won't mean a thing, if you
    don't help me sing
let's all wear pink on christmas!
let's all burn books on christmas!
let's all crash planes on christmas!
let's all drink blood on christmas!
let's all kill dogs on christmas!
let's all start firest on christmas!
let's all shoot guns on christmas!
let's all have fun on christmas!
let's all moo shoo on christmas!
let's all chow mein on christmas!
let's all kung pao on christmas!
let's all moo goo on christmas!
let's all fuck cows on christmas!
let's all spread AIDS on christmas!
let's all cream rinse on christmas!
let's all get slammed on christmas!!

Howdy. So I've uploaded a song from my new Christmas CD called "Let's All S--k D--k on Christmas" and I'd be delighted if someone would make a funny video for it. I'd do it myself but I'm busy making another video for another track. LASDOC is written and sung by my friend Sam Kulik, if you want to check out his other music, just Google him. Yulenog 3 will be released forthwith and more info on that is available at YulenogMusic.com Check it out and if you have some ideas for the song just let me know.
Some people have said that it sounds "old." Well, kind of. It's not electronic music, that's for sure. It's a bunch of us in a room playing instruments and singing with a couple microphones. That's how people used to record music, so I guess in that sense it is "old fashioned." Enjoy.
