Open Call For Animators

Posted by NaKrown - November 28th, 2012

Hi folks,
If you've been following the EBE Kickstarter Updates, you know I've recently started contacting some animators about creating short sequences for the film. I'm super excited and some great guys have signed on and I'm really excited about who's in the lineup so far. But it's only a start and I'm ready to make the general call for animators on the site.

The plan is to cut the edited interview audio into little segments and invite animators to listen to an mp3 and interpret and animate to the stories they hear. Anyone who's willing to spend some of their time animating these short (3-5 min tops) segments, I want to hear from you. Just send me a PM or comment here and I'll check out your stuff and be in touch. Everyone can work in their own style and will be credited of course and it should be a pretty amazing collaboration in the end.

So far, I've got:
Ajay Karat - http://www.devilsgarage.com/
TyStarr - http://tystarr.newgrounds.com/
The Swain - http://www.theswain.com/
Luis Castañon - http://luis.newgrounds.com/
Mick "Rice Pirate" Laurer - http://www.ricepirate.com/
and Chad Kaplan - http://vimeo.com/chadkaplan

Who wants in on the biggest collab ever?

Woah, this is still alive? I thought you jacked the money and left.

Anyway, I wish I was good enough to help but good luck!

You're joking, right? Please.
Well send your favorite animators thisaway! :)

I really didn't think you were still doing this.

It never went away. :)

EVERYTHING BY EVERYONE THE DOCUMENTARY °O°

COMING TO A THEATER NEAR YOU IN 2000-NEVER

No, but for serious a minute, I'm so happy to finally hear an update ohmygosh i cant wait to see it ;__;
I'd help animate, but I've never done 3 minutes ever. Welp.

No time like the present! Although, there will also be some shorter bits needed as well.

Any release date yet?

Oh and will it be on a DVD? :3

I'd love to help, just hit me up with a PM telling me what you need help with.

Also: I don't have any of my new stuff on this account. I can send you samples of what I'm currently working on if you need an example of my talents.

I would definitely like to help and do some animation for this!

Hey, dude, whatever happened to those stickers?

They went out, but a lot of them bounced back. Did you move?

I'm down. Let me know if you'd be interested in having me on board.

i want to help, but you need to send me a pm and say "please, helpme".;

Sounds like something I'd like to be a part of. So yeah.

I think the definition of short animation is an oxymoron, especially if you're asking for 3-5 minutes from each animator.

That breaks down between six artists that you have so far as involving 18 to 30 minutes, and how many animators are you looking for overall? The curious portion is your running length in time for the documentary then, as it seems to be strange to be adding that much.

I'd like to give it a shot, If you'd let me

I would absolutely love to help out if you'll have me!

I would love to be a part of this. I've been wanting to get back into animation, it's been a long while since my last project!

I'm definitely interested in this.

Also, I agree with Jonas. 3-5 minutes is a lot of job. I think the best thing you could do is split those into smaller segments and then have some sort of "exquisite corpse" (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exquisite_corpse</a>). Have a first animator do a 15 sec. segment, then have him send his segment to a second animator who will pick up from where the last one left off, etc.

This way, each animated short will be more fluid, will ask for less work from each animator and will showcase different animation styles!

I think this is a real possibility for certain chunks. I will be keeping it in mind.

I would be absolutely motivated to work on a bit for it!, (although i may agree with the fact that 3-5 minutes could be too much time considering how important it could be to have as many different styles as possible and the amount of work) still, count me on the list of interested newgrounders!

You need a hand on anything (video shoot) in the non-urban areas of NJ, PM me - I got an extra lavalier and a shotgun mic (both mono, sad to day). I guess yer done with principal shooting anyway...
Some damn fine talent below me :) But where is Master Aardvark?
Best wishes!
